Description: Two NVA divisions executed a surprise attack on Ban Me Thout. The major roads into the area being closed already, the ARVN began the piecemeal commitment of reinforcements. This tactical error resulted in the loss of Ban Me Thout and the defeat in detail and eventual destruction of one ARVN division.
