More detail on this person: Raymond J. Adams, Jr. passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the age of 85. He was the beloved husband for 63 years of Marilyn Martin Adams; loving father of Glenn M. Adams, Sr. (Laura) and Bruce P. Adams; grandfather of Glenn M. Adams, Jr. (Megan), Kyle J. Adams, Steven M. Adams, Ryan P. Adams, Lauren M. Adams, and Brendan S. Adams; and great-grandfather of Tori C. Adams. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Irma Abadie Adams, and his sister, Anita H. Abernathy. Raymond was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. He retired from the U.S. Army National Guard as a helicopter pilot. Raymond was a parishioner of St. Philip Neri Church, and a member of the Mardi Gras Barbershop Chorus and Paul E. Boyd Marine Corps League. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 2:00PM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 12:00PM. Interment will be private.
