Clayton, Gene Culver OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Funeral for retired Army Major Clayton Gene Culver, 66, Overland Park, Kan., will be at 11 a.m., Friday at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park. Maj. Culver died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at his home. Inurnment with full military honors will be later at Barancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Fla. He was born in Elkland, Mo., and was a graduate of Cameron University. He served in Vietnam and received the Bronze Star during his combat tour. He was also a helicopter pilot in Korea and Okinawa, and in several stateside assignments. He continued a civilian career as a pilot for Petroleum Helicopters. He married Dell on March 8, 2007, and they made their home in Overland Park. Survivors include his wife; four daughters and a son-in-law: Juli Erricson, Vicki and James Apple, and Sherry Havron, all of Lawton; and Carrie Croy, Oklahoma City; grandchildren: Kylie and Kyndall Erricson, Jeremy and Shelby Wagner, and Dustin and Tyson Havron; a brother and sister-inlaw, Ivan and Patty Culver, Lafayette, La.; and two sisters and a brother-in-law: Beverly Hughes, Springfield, Mo.; and Phyllis and Randy Purcell, Lynn Creek, Mo. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
