He was born September 7, 1923 in Spokane, and grew up in Kent. He lived in Bellingham for the past 22 years. Ed was a pilot in the Air Force for 28 years, and served in WWII and the Vietnam war. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Dolly, and his eldest son, Maury. He is survived by his children, Doug and Elaine Godfrey of Renton and Christie Godfrey of Anacortes; by 6 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was caring, generous and a tower of strength to those who depended on him. He will be missed by family and friends. His family is grateful for the care and support of the staff at Highgate, and at the Willows. There will be a private interment. Memorial donations are suggested to Whatcom Hospice or a charity of your choice.
