More detail on this person: Charles M. "Chuck" Johnson Charles M. "Chuck" Johnson NECEDAH -- Charles M. "Chuck" Johnson, 65, passed away at the Madison Veterans Hospital on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013. Chuck was born in Edgerton, the son of Charles and Naomi. He was a 1966 graduate of Janesville High School and worked for General Motors Co., for 32 years. Chuck was very proud to have served in the U.S. Army from December 1966 to February 1972. He attended Officer Candidate School before doing a tour in Korea in the infantry. He returned stateside to attend flight school and then did a tour in Vietnam as a Huey pilot for the 174th Assault Helicopter Company as a Dolphin. After being discharged from the Army, he continued to fly for the Wisconsin National Guard out of Madison for two years. After retiring from GM, Chuck worked at the Tomah Walmart and tended bar at Sportsmans and the VFW Hall in Necedah. Chuck enjoyed working in his shop, taking care of his yard and fruit trees, riding ATVs, playing cards with his buddies and traveling to Hawaii and beyond. Chuck is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Linda; daughter, Jessica (Tyler) Komatz, granddaughter, Ava Nault and grandson, Jaxon Komatz; daughter, Kristi (Jeff) Wilder, grandsons, Zachary and Joshua Wilder; stepdad, Eugene Indgjer; sisters, Jeanine (Gene) Fry, Sheila (Jim) Pennycook, Pam (Rich) Dahlke and Jackie (Jay) Mesiti; mother-in-law, Lois Shannon; father-in-law, Erv Weeks; brothers-in-law; Jeff (Kathy) Weeks and Charlie (Kathy) Weeks; nieces and nephews, Tim (Amy) Fry, Wendy (Josh) Sommers, Zach Pennycook, Joe Pennycook, Allie (Mike) Putnam, Sara (Henry) Yu and Becky (Francisco) Nunez; a favorite uncle, Bob (Cam) Johnson; step-brothers, Ed (Sharon) Greenfield, Bob (Sherry) Greenfield; special friends, Butch (Cherry) and Dick (Kriss); many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends. He is preceded in death by his dear mother, Naomi (Chitwood) Indgjer; father, Charles E. Johnson; and stepmother, Gladys Johnson. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the VFW Hall in Necedah. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Wounded Warriors Program are appreciated. Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements
