More detail on this person: David Money was
born in Knoxville, TN, moving to the D.C. area at
the age of 8. He graduated from high at the age
of 16 and received permission from his parents to
join the guard upon his 17th birthday. He served
with the occupation forces in Japan. This information was last updated 05/18/2016

He received his first Bronze Star award in Korea
and his second award (oak leaf cluster) during
service with AirCav/AirMobDiv in Vietnam during
his 1966 tour from 1/20/66 to 12/19/66. David
also was sent to Germany in the early 1950's to
provide helicopter pilot training to German
officers. He was a Master Aviator (fixed and
rotary) logging over 3500 hours of flight. He was
awarded the AM including 9 OLC's. David retired in
1969 from OCRD/Wash, DC with the rank of LTC.
He was offerred a position with Hughes
Aircraft/Culver City where he remained for two
years. He then accepted a position with Augusto
Aeroneutiche (sp?) for 11 years in Sesto Calende,
Varese, Italy. David was diagnosed with
Alzheimers and subsequently cancer which led to
his death in 1995.
Survivors: Daughter, Denise Money LaCourse, Rio
Vista, CA; Daughter, Dava Money, Langford,
CO.
As the deceased did not share detailed information
with the two daughters concerning his career (a
typical trait for servicemen with daughters), I am
now researching his experiences and identifying
his military awards.
