More detail on this person: James William Turner, 53 OBITUARIES Sarasota Herald-Tribune (FL) - Thursday, July 23, 1998 James William Turner, 53, Sarasota, died July 22, 1998. He was born Aug. 18, 1944, in Bartow and came to Sarasota 10 years ago from Tallahassee. He owned A London Frame Gallery in Sarasota. He graduated with a degree in art from Florida State University. An Army captain during the Vietnam War, he was a helicopter pilot. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his mother, Hazel Turner of Sarasota. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel. The service will be at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Sarasota. Memorial donations may made to the YMCA Foundation of Sarasota, 1084 S. Briggs, Sarasota, FL 34237.
