More detail on this person: AH-1G wire strike
at Hunter-Ligget; 11:45 PM, night NOE. In acft
with John Cohorn.
I cannot speak to his other assignments, but I
first met Ron Tusi when he was assigned to the
155th AHC/ FT Ord. in the fall of 71. He flew in
the 155th with me and then sometime early in 72
went to COBRA IP school. Then rotated back to
Viet Nam. To my knowledge he flew 3 Cobra
combat tours.
Ron was also in the US Navy (I believe special
combat ops/ SEAL) for about 10 years prior to
becoming and USA warrant officer. I have not
researched his USN record.
He was a very good friend and an exceptional gun
pilot!

Ron was part of UDT's BUDS class 28 beginning in
April of 1962, graduating later in August and went
on to be assigned to UDT 12 based
at USNAB, Coronado Ca. I was in that same class
and was assigned to UDT 11. Though we went to
different teams I served in parallel with him as
we rotated between our UDT headquaters at
USNAB and our WestPac station in Subic Bay,
Philippines. Team 11 and Team 12 alternated
between the two duty stations on six month
rotations. I went to SEAL Team 1 in January of
1965 and Ron was not serving with the SEALS
during my time there which ended in April of 1966.
I know he left the Navy at some point to serve in
the Army but I don't know the date. I have no
knowledge if he ever served with any SEAL team
after my departure. It is possible he may have
served on a team after I left.
During his time with UDT 12 he would have been
deployed to Viet Nam at least once and possibly
more.
