David was born in Bridgeton, NJ and came to this area 5 years ago from St. Croix, Virgin Islands. David is a Viet Nam Veteran and retired from the Army and National Guard after 31 years as a chopper pilot, and worked with the U.S. Marshall's in St. Croix. He enjoyed building and doing things with his hands. David was a member of Berean Baptist Church in Ocala, Fl. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Carmen E. Van Derbeck of 15 years of Dunnellon, Fl., daughter- Evelyn Maria Van Derbeck of Dunnellon, Fl., sister- Julie Exter of Beggs, Ok. There will be a memorial service celebrating David's life on Sat. Jan 3, 2009 at Berean Baptist Church, 4800 SW 20th St. Ocala, Fl., at 2:00 PM all are welcome to attend the service. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Berean Baptist Church in memory of David.
