More detail on this person: RAYMOND R. VEDITZ OBITUARIES Daily Press (Newport News, VA) - Thursday, September 26, 1996 WILLIAMSBURG - Lt. Col. Raymond R. Veditz, 68, of Williamsburg died Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Williamsburg Community Hospital. A native of Baltimore, he had lived in Williamsburg for over 25 years. He was a graduate of Tulane University and the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and had done additional graduate work at the College of William and Mary. Lt. Col. Veditz retired from the U.S. Army at Fort Eustis in 1977 after 27 years of distinguished military service. After his retirement he worked for the House Appropriations Committee of the Virginia General Assembly and served on the Board of Keep Virginia Beautiful. He is survived by his loving wife, Lydia Veditz; his daughter, Paula Marotta of Williamsburg; his sons, Raymond T. and Richard M. Veditz, and their spouses, all of Grafton; and four granddaughters. The family will receive friends at Bucktrout of Williamsburg on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery with full honors.
