Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 at Christian-Gavlik Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow for James Lee Vernon, 69, of Coweta. Interment will be held in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta under the direction of Christian-Gavlik Funeral Home. Vernon died Thursday, Jan. 10 in Broken Arrow. Memorial contributions may be made to CancerSucks.com or the SPCA. Vernon was born June 27, 1943 in Del Rio, Tex. to Joe and Gladys (Wilburn) Vernon. A retired captain in the United States Army, he was the Director of First National Bank of Coweta. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Muskogee. Vernon is survived by his wife, Debby Vernon, of the home and two children, Mike Vernon of Tulsa and Jennifer Vernon of Broken Arrow. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Gladys Vernon.
