More detail on this person: Edmund Leroy Van Dervort West Point, 1956 Be Thou At Peace Posted by william reese on April 10, 2006: I'm saddened to have just learned of Edmund's death at such a young age. I was his battery orderly room clerk in 1962. 52nd Arty Bde, Pedricktown NJ. He inspired me and I had much respect for him. I remembered how he loved to get out of the office when he could and log in some flying time in helocopters. Often he would bring his little boy about age 2 into the office, He looked just like his dad. Over the years I often wondered how he was doing. You never forget good folks. Posted by gary s meyer on April 16, 2016: I worked for Col Van Dervort from 1974 to 1976 when he was the battalion commander of the 2/59th ADA Schwabach, Germany. He was a fine officer and an excellent commander. Guys like him will always be missed.
