More detail on this person: WILLIAM F. WHITRIGHT SR. OBITUARIES 2 Providence Journal (RI) - Sunday, December 23, 2001 WILLIAM F. WHITRIGHT SR., 60, of Bristol Road, retired co-owner of Whitco Testing, died Thursday at South County Hospital, Wakefield. He was the husband of Sara (Brady) Whitright. They had been married for 40 years. Born in Charleston, W.Va., a son of the late Walter F. and Agatha (O'Hare) Whitright. Mr. Whitright was co-owner of Whitco Testing for 11 years before retiring, and had previously been a police officer in Orleans, Mass. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as a pilot, and was the recipient of several medals and citations, including the Distinguished Flying Cross. He later served in the Rhode Island Army National Guard. Mr. Whitright attended Rhode Island College and the University of West Virginia. He was an ordained minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, William F. Whitright Jr. of Richmond; two daughters, Shannon Whitright Smith of Warren and Tara Whitright Ray of East Providence; a sister, Barbara Hall of Hanson, Ky.; and three grandchildren. He was the brother of the late John and Garrett Collins. The funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in Church of God, Allen Avenue, Peace Dale. Burial with military honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
