More detail on this person: Ret. Col. Homer Lee Walker Ret. Col. Homer Lee Walker, 86, of Belton, died Friday, May 24, 2013, at Scott and White Hospital in Temple. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, May 30, 2013, at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Dossman Funeral Home in Belton. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2013. Homer Lee was born in Marion, North Carolina, to the late Ira Lee Walker and Queenie Edna (Bowman) Walker. He retired from the United States Army in 1975 after 30 years of service in which he rose to the rank of Colonel. He then received his law degree and practiced law until his retirement. Homer was a member of the VFW, State Bar Association of Texas, and the Austin Ski Club. He loved to snow ski, travel, cycle, read, and trade in the stock market. He was married to Jennie Louise (Smith) Walker from 1953 until 1977. He was then married to Elizabeth (Kelly) Walker from 1983 until 1989. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Louise (Smith) Walker; a brother, William "Bill" Walker; and a sister, Barbara Ann (Walker) Brandon. Survivors included sons, Michael Lee Walker, Mark Stephen Walker, and Home Lee Walker II; daughters, Rebecca Smith Walker Hilliard, and Jennie Louise Walker; grandchildren, Jaylee Hilliard and Ryan Hilliard; many other relatives and numerou
