Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, November 2, 2012 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Chaplain Maj. Charles Hamlin officiating according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Mr. Wessner was born May 4, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY son of the late William and Mary Wallace Wessner. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He later worked as a police officer for the Columbus Police Department and also owned Top Dogs Hotdogs. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Yvonne "Bonnie" Young Wessner of Columbus, GA, son, Kenny Wessner (Samantha) of Waverly Hall, GA, two daughters, Jeanette Wessner of Columbus, GA and Elizabeth Cain (Scott) of Midland, GA, brother, Bill Wessner of Tampa, FL, two sisters, Cathy Martinez and Susan Wessner both of White Deer, TX, and five grandchildren, Avian, Abiel, Lela, Kaylen, and Garrett.
